Brand new Giant 29er demo bike to play with - CHECK!
Pouring rain - arse.
But most importantly - I get to ride my first 29er. Giant have done a good job and some clever stuff like bolt thru axle, tapered steerer and massive hydroforming to make a comfy yet torsionally stiff bike. So it climbs like a goat which makes it a big dissapointment there is no singlespeed version in Europe. Our friends in USA get a ss-able version, but only for many more $$$ in carbon / aluminium "Alliance". Damn you Giant - send a ss version of the stock aluminium frame to Europe NOW!
So am I convinced by 29er? Yes. But not with a dangly chainslappy derailleur :-)
